Keyboard configs

I'm a lefty, so my left hand controls my mouse. I use the arrow keys to move, numpad zero to sprint, right shift to jump and right ctrl to crouch. I also use page down to zoom.

That's the config I have been using to play for over a year now. I'm used to it, but life would be a lot easier if I was right-handed. Then my keyboard configuration could be standard and I can use gaming mice to their full potential.

Also, I don't bind my weapons. I know I should, but I don't, because I'm used to using the mouse wheel.

Anyone here don't bind their weapons too?

i only bind a certain few. i'm a righty. i use w,a,s,d to move. Left shift to sprint and space bar to jump. My crouch is bound to a side button on my mouse. (that really helps with b-hopping) THe mag is also bound to a side button on my mouse.

I also made both the "F" and "G" keys my gravity gun. and bound my flashlight to "0" since i dont ever use it. I remember when i frist started to get decent at this game i'd always accidently turn on my flashlight instead of switching to the G gun. Drove me nuts. I have no problems now.

For some reason i have a very hard time pressing the "4" key. So i plan to move the shotty and xbow too.

i have used all these settings for yrs and have wrked very well for me the only ones i have changed is the name change binds.

lol zilla i also bound my to 0 as well thats bad i forgot it was 0 for flashlight till u said sumthing lol

only thing i ever binded was admin to f1. im like you Ziah i got to know how use the mouse wheel pertty well.

if anyone needs a cfg file made i can make 1 and upload it

I binded admin to F1, Fraps Recording to F5, Fraps Screenshot to F6, and suicide for x (for comedic effect).

I use Fast Weapon Switch instead of weapon binds.

k is kill for me lol

I only have admin bounded and a shotty bound to the extra key on my mouse. Enough for me i guess.

I've never used fast weapon switch and I've never known what it was. What is it?

Its a choice in the Advanced Keyboard settings. 1 will take out crowbar, and 1 again while having the crowbar out will take out a stunstick or grav gun, depending on which one you have.

Im Lefty too... but i play right... maybe thats why i suckkk but im on a laptop with no keypad soo it would be rough playing lefty

On bindss i have a few rcon commands...

n= ma_rcon sv_gravity 600

m= ma_rcon sv_gravity 450

F12= ma_showrestrict

thats a really good idea, i changed the talk key to c so im not trying to press a key thats on the other side of the keyboard

I'm messing with binds, so ty Ziah for bringing this up.

Taking Zilla's advice, and moving flashlight out teh wayz.

I don't bind my weapons, been using the scroll wheel for ages, anything else feel useless. Has bit me in the ass on many occasions, but I am a creature of habit. I'm right handed, but I bound my movement, reload, sprint, and use keys on the right side of the keyboard, arrows, /, num pad 1 and zero respectively. I set them that way when I first got the game because I couldn't remember the asdw keys. My fingers have polished those keys to a nice bright shine, lol.
